New supported living centre, Briars Hey. SBEM provided to meet Part L 2013. The brief dictated no renewable energy with a keen focus on the ‘fabric first’ approach and energy efficiency.

Low Carbon Box also provide advice and support for the air tightness detailing and methodology. This resulted in a successful air test below 5m3/hr/m2.

Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Low energy lights (using LED) combined with automated lighting controls. Clerestory windows for improving background natural light. Excellent levels of insulation and air tightness. Thermal bridge details enhanced to reduce heat loss.
